Rooting Our History

Since November of 2023, Lenna Odeh, the first member of the Juthoor team, worked in an individual capacity with Palestinian artisans and farmers to market their products in the United States in order to help in supporting and sustaining their craftsmanship and craftswomanship. She was soon joined by Fekhri and Samira Barghouthi (Abu Shadi and Um Shadi), community leaders who also gave Juthoor its name. Lenna also received support from Mohammad Abu Hawash, a writer/communications professional, Aya Tello, a graphic designer, as well as other friends and family who helped in uplifting the vision of Juthoor into what it is now.

Juthoor (Roots) is a project that started in April, 2024, in a village named Kobar, which is situated twenty minutes outside of Ramallah, Palestine. The inspiration for this project came from a collective desire to simultaneously support traditional industries while also creating a fund to provide humanitarian aid for Palestinian communities facing dire circumstances.

What Sets Juthoor Apart?

Juthoor works directly with Palestinian organizations, farmers, and artisans who makes each product by hand, and can tailor their craft towards individual preferences. Our priority is to preserve traditional artisan practices allowing each craftsperson we work with to showcase and grow their artistry.
All our products are organic, sustainable, and guaranteed, whether it is our naturally made body butter, single-sourced and pressed olive oil, or our hand-embroidered Kuffiyehs.
Such is the pride that each person who works with Juthoor takes in their work.

Each item purchased from Juthoor will support Palestinians in two ways.

We directly support skilled Palestinian laborers and craftsmen and women as well as their local businesses and industries throughout the various sectors of the local economy, such as artisans and farmers.
The second way is that 25% of the profit of each purchase is automatically put into the Juthoor official fund, The People's Fund that will go towards sending humanitarian aid, and supporting different causes for people in Palestine, and also our global community.

The Difference
We Make

Since we here at Juthoor find it imperative that the community is at the core of our work, we make sure to provide regular updates on our website on how the funds and donations are distributed.

It is our hope that this project will grow so that, in the near future, we will be able to not only sustain local programs, but work to build our own as well.
