We at Juthoor wanted to find a way to bring our Palestinian Kuffiyehs into new products and styles. One of our craftswomen Maysa from the village of Kobar worked with us at Juthoor to make our line of Kuffiyeh handbags. She lovinginly incorporated the different elements of our beautiful Felahi culture into a purse that not only will stand out and catch people’s eye, but is also timeless and versitile. Our Kuffiyeh handbags really do showcase the high level of creativity and workmanship that we a Juthoor take pride in. Each handbag is made to order so you know that the personal touch that Palestinian art, cutlture, and craftwoman/manship highly covets and takes pride in is continued through each and every item we imagine and make at Juthoor.
Here is the first of our new line of handmade and hand embroidered Kuffiyeh handbags. Every detail has been lovingly and skillfully done by hand from the Palestinian tradition of Tatreez, stitching, all the way to Juthoor’s (Roots’) new handmade logos. The traditional materials and symbols of the Palestinian Kuffiyeh, Tatreez, and highly intricate and eye catching Syrian materials are all brought together in our own unique style. Many loving hands and hearts came together to make these beautiful handbags. We hope you love them as much as we do!
-This handbag is made on the exterior from the Palestinian Kuffiyeh and is lined inside with black material.
-Inside there is an inner pocket that closes with a zipper.
-The pocket is cream colored with the iconic olive branch and watermelon hand embroidered on to it. It also has a traditional handstitched red border around the pocket.
-The sides and bottom of the purse is adorned with a burgundy, black, and gold border made from the traditional Syrian material that is well known for its intricate embellishments and is widely used in Palestinian traditional dress.
-The shoulder strap keeping on continuity with the outer pocket is cream colored and has Palestine, the olive branch, and the watermelon slice hand embroidered across the whole length of it.
-This bag also comes with a hand-crotched watermelon medallion in the iconic shape of the watermelon slice!
